note in "Rakestraw on Delaware" - John had some deficiency so that he needed guardians; perhaps the John dismissed from North District, 24 6th 1806. Shirley Graham: "From Phila. Deeds EF-15 page 169 John Rakestraw house carpenter one of the sons and devisee of Joseph Rakestraw (Will dated 7 Apr 1794) late of said city, house carpenter, dec'd to Rebecca Rakestraw, Spinster, sister of said John Rakestraw. John is selling his part of a lot inherited from his father on south side of Mulberry street between 7th and 8th streets, bounded on E. partly by part alloted to said Rebecca, W. by Joseph Ogilby. Joseph Rakestraw obtained from Isaac Zane Jr then of said city, glazier by indenture dated 2 July 1766, Deed Bk 24 p. 100. deed signed by John Rakestraw, witnessed by Joseph Ogilby, Jr, P. Thomas Recieved 9 Mar 1802, Rebecca sold this in 1803, 14 June. I had the impression this John was underage at father's death. At any rate he is working and selling property in 1802." References
