'WILL OF JOHN PURCHAS
27 March, 1585. ... All the rest of my goods I give unto John Purchas my youngest son, to do his will and best withal: which said John my youngest son I ordain and make my full and whole executor, ...'

It is assumed that "John my youngest son" meant the younger John, since George is identified as the youngest son. The wording would seem to imply that John was relatively young and probably unmarried, but at least 21 years of age.

The will of "John Purchas", dated 27 March, 1585 and proved 11 October 1585 mentions "Margaret my wife", "John Purchase my eldest son" and "his three children John, William and Alice", "George Porcas my youngest son", "John my younger son", "Thomas my son", "Mary my daughter, wife of John Warnard", "the two children of the said Mary my daughter, namely, ... Thomas Warner and Mary Warnare", "the daughter of Thomas my son", and others.
