  7. His parents were married in 1839. Since several census records imply that he was born after 1840 and after his sister Elizabeth, it seems unlikely that he was born in 1837 or 1838. The later census records are consistent with the Nov 1843 birth date indicated in the 1900 census, but he might have been born a year or two earlier.
