The author assumes he was the eldest child because he was named first in his father's will. However, we know from the few baptism records found that other children weren't named in age order. On page 317, the author says he was born about 1742, and on page 351, he says he must have been born about 1734 (presumably to make him older than Samuel and Thomas, named after him in the will). "Late in the eighteenth century, he removed to Washington Co, Pa, and there died in 1807."
