    J.O.Parmiter was born, August 29th, 1838 in Morgan County Ohio, where he grew to manhood. Died, Friday, February 27th, 1903. Was united in marriage, May 16th, 1861, to Sarah Jane Weeden, to this union were born four children, J.E. and Wm. Parmiter of Eskridge, Mrs Hattie Stock, of Diver, and Mrs Eva E Harter, of Ohio, all are left, with the aged father, Ephraim Parmiter; Geo. Parmiter of Plumb township and Wm. Parmiter of Winfield, brothers, and Mrs Wyatt Roush, of Alma, and Mrs Allie Coulter, of Harveyville, sisters, to mourn the loss of father, son and brother. The mother died Nov 16th 1877. Mr Parmiter with his son J.E. has been in business in Eskridge for 17 years. Was a member of A.F.& A.M. and of A.O.U.W/ I early life he united with the Christian Church. None were more liberal than he in the support of the church or in the relief of the worthy poor, but making, in all cases, the least possible display in his contributions. Summoned from his post some weeks ago in failing health, he awaited patiently the summons that would call him to eternal rest and from his loved ones by the only messenger whose mandates man cannot defy. The funeral services were conducted at his home and the ceremonies were in keeping with his wish, simple and plain, conducted by Rev. W. H. Shumate and Rev. J.F. Sloan.The floral offerings were beautiful. The relatives have the sympathy of all in bereavement.
