Notes

  • supposedly according to an apprentice bond John was born Jean Memorelle and his name was changed after he was apprenticed to a local Fayetteville prominent lawyer named David Ochiltree. His mother was known as "French Mary". He had a sister named Julia who married a prominent Fayetteville leather goods manufacturer, Matthew N. Leary.
