    Headstone in Kittery, Maine: "Rev. John Mewmarch the first pastor of the first Congregational church in Kittery, died January 15, 1754, aged 81 years.

    He graduated at Harvard, 1690, commenced his ministry in Kittery as early as April, 1695, was ordained paster of the church Nov. 4, 1714, and continued until 1751."
