Children of John Needham and first wife Hannah Savil of Braintree: John, b. 1674, d. 1743, lived in Billerica.
- ↑ The basis for Thwing's identification is not known. The son of John of Boston is baptized in 1682, no birth record found, yet does not seem to be Elizabeth's. Source: Paige, Lucius Robinson. History of Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1630-1877, p. 615 says John's children were placed under the guardianship of their grandfather Hicks, but does not mention John. Assuming this is accurate, it suggests both parents had died, hence the death in 1689/90 is assigned to the father, and John is not thought to be a child of Elizabeth, rather the first wife. There is a John Needham who d. in Boston 1709, age 45, but this would place the birth in 1664, and there seems to be no source that suggests John had a marriage earlier than the one in 1669. Thus John of Billerica is a good fit. More research is needed to find evidence his parents are correctly identified.
