"John Munn was born at Deerfield [no record found; more likely died at Northfield], March 16, 1711/2, the son of Benjamin and Thankful (Nims) Munn, and died at Deerfield, April 5, 1785. He was a soldier at Fort Dummer 1730-6. Soon after his marriage he moved to Northfield, where he was recorded as a weaver in 1744. Probably he moved there to take over his father-in-law's business, for William Holton, who had been the weaver in Northfield, was now about 70 years old."
