1. JOHN MOTT, born possibly in the village of Saffron Walden, Essex, England, about 1570, died no doubt in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, shortly after 3 July 1656, when the last record of the town providing his keep was dated, with an order requiring his son Adam to provide him a cow and some corn.
