MEDLIN FUNERAL HELD MONDAY (John M. Medlin, OBIT)

The Rev. John Medlin, 78, died suddenly at the home of his daughter, Mrs E.E. Morgan, in Gaffney Saturday. Mr. Medlin was a native of Flat Shoals community near Walhalla. He had been in declining health for the last four years. He was a retired farmer and Weslayan Methodist minister. He was the son of the late Henderson and Sarah Leslie Medlin. His wife, Mrs. Lela Nix Medlin, died seven years ago.

He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E.E. Morgan of Gaffney and Mrs. J. B. Sanders of Columbia; four sons, W.B. Medlin of Belton, C.E. Meldin of Anderson, C.L. Medlin of Seneca. J.L. Medlin of Salem, 18 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Lula Anderson of Pickins, Mrs. Lula Fulbright of Toccoa, Ga.,: two brothers, Foster Medlin of Toccoa and Lawrence Medlin of Greenville. Funeral services were held at Welcome Methodist church Monday conducted by the Rev. G. L. Stewart, the Rev. Glenn Merck and the Rev. Padgett. Interment was in the church cemetery. Ansel Funeral Home was in charge.

Pallbearers were B.G. Patterson, Olin Medlin and J. B. Medlin, Herman Hood, C. p. Hood and Elmer Hood. Flower girls were Barbara Medlin, Edith Medlin, Inola Medlin, Jean Sanders and Cherie Sanders.
