JOHN McTUCKER , 78, of San Antonio, TX, and formerly of Barry, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in San Antonio. He was born Nov. 3, 1931, in Quincy a son of John W. and Dorothy (Main) McTucker. He married Joan (Spann) Houseweart Sept. 23, 1978, in Goshen, IN, and she survives in San Antonio. He is also survived by two sons, Thomas (Shari) Davidson of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Bobby (Felicia) Houseweart of San Antonio; three daughters, Aileen (Al) Brockett of Myrtle Beach, Carol (Larry) Kalb of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Robin Houseweart of Barry; 12 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and a brother, Richard McTucker of Barry. He was preceeded in death by his parents. Mr. McTucker was reared on the family farm at Barry and attended Barry schools. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict specializing in communications. In 1957, he joined the FAA at Ft. Wayne, IN airport and then served as Sector Fields Office Chief at the Peoria airport. Retiring after 32 years in civil service he opened an electronics shop in Bartonville. He was a talented electronics wizard and trained many to excel in the profession. He was passionate about collecting guns, old radios and loved the woods. He was an American Legion member for 55 years. He was so respected that his word was his bond. He was of the Christian faith. He was one of a kind; accomplishments were many and he will be missed by all that knew him. Graveside services were Tuesday at Park Lawn Cemetery in Barry. Memorials were suggested to American Legion Pos1 CONC t #222 in Barry.
