Capt. John Mayo (6) (Noah5&4-Thomas3-John2-Rev. John1) Born in 1776 at Truro or Provincetown, was the son of Noah Mayo and Hope Rich of Truro. He became a master mariner, and a successful blockade runner during the War of 1812-15. Subsequently he engaged in farming at Truro, Massachusetts and died there when about 80 years of age. In 1798 he married, Hannah Rich who lived to be 96 years of age.[2] They had seven children:
1. Noah Mayo (7) born in 1800 and married 1st Pamelia Atwood 2nd Janette McRoberts Eye
2. John Mayo (7) lost at sea
3. Alfred Mayo (7) married Hester A. R. Nye lost at Sea
4. Timothy Mayo (7)

7. Amaziah Mayo (7) born Jun3 4, 1812 married widow of his brother Alfred. Hester Nye Mayo daughter of Isaiah and Kesiah Rider Nye of Sandwich.
