John2 Lee resided at Farmington, lived in his father's house, where is now Miss Porter's school, and was a man of influence in the Plantation, being annually chosen to offices of honor and trust. 'He was street and land surveyor; was one of the committee appointed by the proprietors to treat with the Sachem Marsakepe, and to obtain his signature to a deed, conveying to them the tract of land named Farmington.' … John Lee died April 24, 1723. His will is dated 1722."

    Lee, John, Farmington. Inventory taken 27 June, 1723, by John Hart, Sen., Samuel Judd and Josiah Hart.

    I, John Lee, of ye Town of Farmingtown, do make this my last will and testament: I give to my wife Elizabeth Lee her rights of dower. Unto my son Jonathan Lee, besides what I have already given him, 3 shillings. Unto my son Samuel Lee, besides what I have given him and done for him in his settlement, I give and bequeath unto him and to his heirs and assigns forever, 1 parcell of land of about 7 acres which I have near to a place called the Pond River; also all the right, title and interest belonging unto me from my father's estate in ye mountany lands lying southerly of ye reserved land and east of ye division of lands between ye mountains; also all my right, title and interest to and in all ye lotts drawn in my father's right in ye divisions of land lying west of the reserved land and that lye southward of ye road commonly used in going from Farmingtown to Litchfield, and my right is 1-2 part of sd. lotts; also I give to my sd. son Samuel my tract of land of about 6 acres lying northward of Gilbert’s River, which I purchased of Thomas Wadsworth; all which parcells of land lye within ye Township of Farmingtown. Unto each of my daughters, vizt., Mary Newell, Elizabeth Langton and Ruth Lee, I give and bequeath so much, to be paid out of my estate by my executor within four years after my decease, as to make up to each of them for their portion, with what they have already received from me, ye sum of £40; and my sd. daughter Elizabeth Langton shall have my great brass kettle towards her part. Unto my grandson Nathan Newell I give and bequeath one of my cut-lashes, to be delivered to his father to be kept for him. Unto my son Hezekiah Lee, now living with me, whom I do constitute and ordain sole executor, to him and his heirs I do give all the remainder of my estate, both real and personal, whatsoever and wheresoever it is; and what of my real estate I have given to my aforesd. wife for her use and improvement during her natural life, after her decease it shall revert unto, be and belong to him ye aforesd. Hezekiah Lee, his heirs and assigns forever.
