John Kempson was baptised on 6th November 1760 at Tilsworth in Bedfordshire, son of Sarah Kempson, formerly Edge, and her husband John Kempson. Young John was baptised privately, which is often a sign the child was not expected to live. Sadly John did indeed die young, being buried just seven days after his baptism.
