- WILL OF JOHN JONES
- In the Name of God Amen. I John Jones of Richmond County, Smith, being weak of body but of sound and perfect memory blessed be God for it do make and ordain this my Last Will and Testament Revoking all others by me before made or intended to be made.
- Item: I give unto my loving wife Ann Jones two feather beds, four blankets, one rug, two iron pots, an iron skillet, a copper kettle, one frying pan, four dishes, a dozen plates, one dozen spoons, chests, a small trunk, three cows & calves or big with calf, a young stear, one mare, one sow and pigs, four hundred fifty pounds of Tobacco upon demand with three barrells of Indian corn and six head of sheep.
- Item: I give to my son John Jones One hundred and fifty two acres of land which I bought of Nathanl Vickars to him and his heirs forever and all my Smith's Tools and all things thereto belonging.
- Item: I give to my son George one Negro man named Tom.
- Item: I give to my son Richard Jones my dwelling plantation and land thereto belonging to bind upon the south side of the western branch of Muddy Creek to him and his heirs forever, but for want of such an heire to fall to my grandson Mark Jones. I also give my son Richard a Negro man named Sambo and a feather bed.
- Item: I give to my son Edward Jones ye plantation whereon he lives to him and his heirs forever and a suit of clothes.
- Item: I give to my daughter Barbary Webster one Negro Woman named Judy and her daughter Rose.
- Item: I give to and bequeath to Mary McKie daughter of Henry McKie one cow and calf by her side or a cow big with calf.
- Lastly, I order all the rest of my estate both real and personal to be equally divided amongst my wife and children and I do constitute and appoint my two sons Richard and George Jones my whole and sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament made this twenty sixth day of April One thousand Seven hundred and twenty four and signed the same day. - At a Court held for King George County the first day of April Anno Dom: 1726,
- The Last Will and Testament of John Jones, deceased, was presented into Court by Richard Jones one of the Executors therein named who made Oath thereto and the same being proved by the Oaths of Henry McKie and Mary Herring two of the witnesses thereto subscribed is admitted to Record.

- In his will made 26th April 1724, JOHN JONES says he is a Smith of Richmond County. Wife ANN JONES. Presented into court 1st April 1726 by Richard Jones and ordered to be recorded.
- Bond of RICHARD JONES Executor of the last will and testament of JOHN JONES deced in the sum of 200 pounds Sterling dated 1st April 1726. Bondsman John Jones.
