* "Here lieth the Body [of John Illingworth] of Farsley, yeoman, Buryed July 26th 1669" - Chancel of Celverley Church.
His will is dated 6th Mar. 1668, To Isabel, his wife, he bequeaths for life, the messuage the the houses, &x. appertaining to it, in his occupation in Farsley, except the close called the Carr, part of which is occupaid by Jos. Waide. Also to said Isabel, all his howsing, lands, &c., in Illingworth, in Ovenden township, in the occupation of John Illingworth, his cousin; and after Isabel's decease, the Farsley property to Richard Calvert's son James, of Horsforth, and Mary Stephenson, d. of Bridget St., deceased, and their heirs, &c., equally betwixt them, if they chance to marry together, they to pay thereout £20 to Geo. Calvert, the elder brother of James, and £10 to Grace C., sister of the same, and £10 to Jane Stephenson, d. of Wm. S. If they do not marry together, the Farsley property to go to James Calvert. The lands at Illingworth, are bequeathed to his cousin John Illingworth, after Isabel's death. Witnesses: Robert Snawden, Josias Brooke.
