Born-1761, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania.
Service-Volunteered as pri. with Penn. troops as follows: From
Feb. or March, 1777, 6 wks. in Capt. Wm. Grimes CO., Col.
Philip Marsteller’s Regt. From Oct., 1777, in Capt. Ambrose
Crain’s CO., Col. Roger’s Regt. Marched to the neighborhood
of White Marsh and was in an engagement at Barnhill Church,
2 mos. From spring 1778, 1 mo. in Capt. John Barnet’s CO.
From fall of 1’779, 2 mos. in Capt. James Johnson’s CO., Col.
Allen’s Regt., and was stationed at Fort Schwartz on the west
branch of the Susquehanna River in defense of the frontier against
the Indians. From the summer of 1780, 1 mo. as a ranger in
Capt. John Barnet’s CO.
Proof-Pension claim S. 31765.
Died-1840. Buried near Trader’s Point.
