    Rev. John Hubbard minister of Jamaica, L. I., b. 9 Jan., 1677, eldest son of John Hubbard and Ann Leverett of Ipswich, and afterwards of Boston, and grandson of Rev. William Hubbard of Ipswich, the historian, and his first wife, Mary Rogers, and also grandson of Gov. John Leverett of Massachusetts. He graduated at Harvard in 1695, and was a Congregational clergyman, but was settled at Jamaica, L. I, as pastor of a Presbyterian church, where he d. in Oct., 1705.
