    He was ordained in 1819 by the Seventh-day Baptist General Conference, and served as a missionary evangelist in Harrison Co., Va., and in New Jersey, and widely elsewhere; was pastor of the Friendship, Richburg and First Genesee S. D. B. churches in Allegany Co., N. Y., from 1824 to 1833; afterward pastor at Brookfield, Madison Co., N. Y., 1838-43, and at Hopkinton, R. I., for several years.
