    "4. Capt. John Fowler s of John and Sarah (Welch) was baptized 5 April 1691 (church record, First Congregational Society, Milford) and died 30 August 1756. He
    married/1 28 February 1711/2 Susannah Burwell (Milford Vital Records) who was born August 1688 and died 18 March 1744 (Milford Vital Records). He married/2 Abigail (Bryan) Prince who was born 1693, baptized 20 August 1694 (church record, First Congregational Society, Milford) dau of Samuel and Martha (Whiting) and widow of Josiah Prince. He was town clerk in Milford 1718 for 38 years. 1739 Captain of the train band. He was commissioned to make provisions for fitting out troops to be raised for His Majesty's service in expedition to Canada, also to raise 200 men including officers for defense of our frontier. He also was deputy to General Court. He conveyed by deed in his will, property and lands to his son John while living. He lived and died in the old homestead of the original William and his only son John succeeded him there."
