JOHN FITZPATRICK was born on April 4, 1862 in Lynville, Tennessee.

John's parents died while he was young, so he was raised by Charles and Jane Fitzpatrick and went to live with his in Missouri. John later moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma.

The 1870 census shows John living with his grandparents in Giles County,Tennessee.

The 1880 census shows John living with his uncle (Joseph Fitzpatrick) in Giles County, Tennessee.

John died on August 23, 1941 in Payne County, Oklahoma. He is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma.

    Rites at Lost Creek Monday at 2:30 p.m.

    Funeral services will be held for John Morgan Fitzpatrick, 79-year-old Payne county pioneer, at the Lost Creek church Monday at 2:30 p.m., the immediate family announced Saturday.

    Fitzpatrick, who came to Stillwater in 1889, died at his home at 1215 Fern street, Saturday, August 23. He had been in ill health for several years. Interment will be in the Elm Grove cemetery.

    Born in Tennessee

    He was born in Giles county, Tenn., near Lynnville, on April 4, 1862. He was the only child of James and Mary Fitzpatrick.

    On May 22, 1889, he married Edna Lee Barker in Ceadarville, Mo., and moved to Oklahoma, then Indian Territory, the same year to a community in Cleveland county. Forty years ago he moved to Payne county to a farm near the Marena neighborhood and in 1919 moved to Lost Creek community.

    Move to City

    After January of this year he moved to Stillwater, retiring from active farming. He was a member of the Christian church.

    He is survived by his wife, one son, Irvin R. Fitzpatrick of Stillwater; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Ham of Oklahoma City; Mrs. Myrtle Bilyeu, Stillwater, and Mrs. Nona Blumer, Stillwater; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
