John¹ Fitch, came to Hartford with his brothers; m. 16 July 1656, Ann, widow of John Hillier of Windsor, whither John Fitch removed. His wife was a widow with 9 children, and she d. 11 Aug. 1673. John Fitch d. at Windsor, 9 May 1676. Having no children of his own, his will, made 30 Aug. 1675 when he was about to enter the army for service in King Philip's war, left his entire estate for a school in Windsor.
