   From Eugene Cole Zubrinksy (author of original article 149 [1995]:230-43): 'On the Scituate, R.I., farm of Peleg5 Fiske (John4, Benjamin3, Joseph2, Wiliam1) is buried John Fisk, whose gravestone inscription says that he died on 7 September 1766, aged 76 [citing Tombstone Recs., Scituate, p. 754 and explaining that this is not Peleg's father John]. Assuming no transcription or printing errors, a birth year of about 1690 is implied. ... Perhaps it is this John (of whom no other record is known to the author) to whom that designation [youngest child of Joseph and Elizabeth (Bartram) (Hammond) Fiske] should apply.'
