    [Note: according to the agreement of heirs in 1757, the father was of Mendon, and since charges and debts of father are one topic of the agreement, his death was probably not long before this agreement. The son is called John Jr. in a marriage record in 1752 so unlikely he died before that.]

    14 Jul 1757: Widow and heirs of Mr John Fish late of Mendon blacksmith Dec'd viz't Mary Fish Widow to ye said John Fish dec'd: and John Fish, Joseph Darling and Mary his wife, Aaron Legg and Experience his wife & Ruth Hayward widow agreed and settled the estate in the following manner: to Hon'rd Mother Mary Fish use of one half of real estate for her natural life (east side) and all household furniture; and Joseph Darling and Mary Darling his wife Aaron Legg and Experience his wife & Ruth Hayward widow for £160 paid by our brother Jn'o Fish do quitclaim all right to real estate of our Hon'd Father John Fish and after decease of mother quit the real estate set off to her to the said John Fish, who will pay all lawful charges and debts of their father and he quitclaims all right to any moveable estate should their mother decease without a will.
