No burial record has been found for John Earnshaw, but the name appears on the U.S., Naturalization Record Indexes, 1791-1992 (Indexed in World Archives Project), published by The National Archives in Washington, DC, with a naturalization date of 22 Nov 1867. (However, none of the images provided refer to John Earnshaw and the last of his children was born in England in 1870.)
Penistone and Thurleston are two villages opposite each other on the River Don. John Earnshaw and his father (also John Earnshaw) used the two interchangeably as their birthplaces. These villages are now in South Yorkshire.
