John L. Dobbins, insurance, etc., Poland township, Mahoning County, was born in said township July 15, 1831. His father, Hugh Dobbins, was a native of Washington County, Pennsylvania, and came to Ohio in 1804 with his parents and located upon the farm where the subject of this sketch now resides. The Dobbins family were among the early pioneers of the county, and have taken a prominent part of the county. Hugh Dobbins died in 1866, leaving a family of five children surviving him. J.L. Dobbins is one of the active business men of Poland, being engaged in insurance, in farming, and is also a dealer in agricultural implements. He is unmarried.
