A couple of possible baptisms for a John Dixon with a father named William at about the right time - this is assuming that the John Dixon who married Esther Ellice was the same one who had been an apprentice in Little Wymondley. The 1744 baptism is possibly more likely as that John had a sister named Sarah of about the right age to be the Sarah Dixon who married Thomas Primet at Great Wymondley in 1775, and both John Dixon and Esther Ellice's marriage and Thomas Primet and Sarah Dixon's marriage were witnessed by a Stephen Rowley (but he does not appear to have witnessed any other marriages locally).
