"17 John Deming, (son of Samuel 4) born 27 Dec. 1694 in Wethersfield, Conn.; died in Jan. 1763 in Norwich Conn.; … John Deming moved from Wethersfield to Norwich, where he first bought land in March, 1743. He appears to have owned land also in Preston and Groton. His will was dated 3 Jan. 1763, and proved the 24th of the same month, and his wife’s will dated 14 Jan. 1763, was proved the 22nd of the same month, showing that he and his wife died in the same month and year. His first three children were baptized in Wethersfield; the others are supposed to have been born in Preston. To his wife he left one-half of his land and the use of his house; and the other half of his land was bequeathed to his three sons. To his daughter Honour he left fifteen pounds, and to his daughter Lucy a chamber in the house, and the use of the garden, and forty-five pounds."
