    Eld. John Davis
This venerable minister of the gospel died at his residence in Lewis co., Va., on the 22d of June last, at the advanced age of 87. He received ordination about the year 1800. He was a soldier in the revolution, and has drawn a pension for that service. For some years he has been too infirm in body and enfeebled in intellect to attend to the ministry of the ward. At the time of his death he was the oldest minister in the denomination.
