"..through John [Davis] of Hampton, Haverhill and Dover NH, selectman of Dover for seven years, ensign (1662), captain (1680), baptized at Thornbury 28 Jan 1620/1, married Jane Peasley of Haverhill, and was killed by the Indians 18 July 1694..."
The death date in 1694 appears to be confusion with his son John Davis, who was killed in the 1694 attack.
