John2 Cutler (John1) was born in Old England about 1625, and was an early proprietor of Reading, where in 1667, he drew thirty acres of land, but settled at Wood Hill, Woburn, the part now Burlington, and was first taxed as an inhabitant of Woburn December 22, 1646. … 1678, when he died with the smallpox. April 3, 1666, the County Court, in consequence of his (John Cutler's) insanity, placed him under the guardianship of the selectmen of Woburn, and instructed them to dispose of his property 'so as to be for his benefit and that of his children, and for payment of that Ingaigement he hade to his late wife the relict of John Lewis.'"
