John3 Culver (Edward2, Edward1), born at Norwich, Conn., 14 Nov. 1685, no death or probate record found; … He was called Captain, but no record of a military appointment has been found, and he may have followed the sea; a circumstance which would explain the marriage of his son Stephen to a girl of Martha's Vineyard. … He moved back from Lebanon to the Bozrah section of Norwich, and was admitted (with Sarah Colver) as third on the list of members of the Bozrah Church."
