"Mr Conaty died yesterday afternoon at his home (80 Dover St. ) afewhours after he had suffered a shock while waiting to conduct a case inDomestic Relations Court."
"Mr. Conaty was a member of the McCann-Conaty faction, the strongest wardorganization in the Democratic party in the city for years."
Educated in publuc grade school, LaSalle Academy, and Boston UniversityLaw School from which he graduated in 1901. Following graduation hepracticed law with offices on Westminster St. [Listed in 1902 Prov CityDirectory as Attorney , home 134 Hendrick St.] (Hendrick St runs from116 Academy Avenue to Mt Pleasant Avenue)
First elected to Providence Common Council from the (old) 10th Ward inNovember, 1906. Led the entire ticket in votes on that occasion.
