John COLLINS was born on 28 Jun 1679 in Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts. He died on 29 May 1775 in Charlestown, Washington, Rhode Island. John was originally William, born June 28, 1679, after the death of his father in 1679 was renamed, by his mother, John, by which name he was ever afterwards known. John Collins, Sr., was one of six persons who May ww, 1710, purchased 3,000 acres of wild land in what is now Hopkinton, R.I. He was a Quaker. Parents: John COLLINS and ABIGAIL JOHNSON.
He was married to Susannah DAGGETT on 13 Jan 1705 in Lynn, Essex, Massachusetts. Children were: Hezakiah COLLINS, Sarah COLLINS, John COLLINS, Samuel COLLINS, Lydia COLLINS
