Note: an IGI submission with many obvious errors has this John Childress as the son of John Childress and Elizabeth Lindsay, but he appears to be born before their marriage date, making this problematic. In addition, this John's wife, Mary 'Polly' Kirby has a birthdate listed of 7 May 1795, just 1 year before their marriage date, also problematic.
