[chappellJohn.FTW] [Brøderbund WFT Vol. 16, Ed. 1, Tree #0406, Date of Import: Jun 18, 1999] Captain John Chappell: One the 28th of May 1635, he weighed anchor at Southampton, England. a little ship called the Speedwell, which sailed away for the colony in Virginia. He set ashore at Jamestown. He was probably the 1st of the Chappells . He was the father of Thomas Chappell who came to the colony in the same year. Captain Chappell probably went back to England and died there, but his son remained. Among the Names listed were John Jones 18, his daughter later married a Chappell. References
