  • often confused with a German John Bird or Amos Byrd (1735-1818 MO) who both lived in Greene county, TN
  • his will states he lived with his wife Mary Taylor Byrd, in Williamsburg VA when he died in 1796 in KY
  • willed to his wife his slaves and land until her death, then everything to go to his brothers, Thomas Taylor Byrd and Francis Otway Byrd
