According to John’s death certificate, a “George Smith” was the informant. This, coupled with the reference on George Smith’s 1920 census noting that there was a John Bowman living with them who shares this John Bowman’s date of birth, leads to the conclusion that this John Bowman is indeed Anna’s brother, and the John Bowman living with George and Anna at the time of the 1920 census.
