State of Kentucky, Fleming County - October Court 1823

On motion of Elizabeth Bowman, who took the necessary oath & entered into & acknowledged bond according to law, with Moses Bridges as security, in the penalty of one hundred dollars, administration of the estate of John Bowman, deceased, is granted her in due form.

Know all men by these presents that I Elizabeth Bowman, widow & administratrix of John Bowman, deceased, of Flemingsburg, Fleming County, Kentucky, hereby constitute and appoint James Alexander of the same place my attorney in fact to recover for such estate as descended to the aforeward John Bowman deceased or may be otherwise coming to him from his Father John Bowman deceased, late of Shenandoah County, State of Virginia, & said Alexander is also authorized to appoint a sub attorney for the same purpose & every act of said attorney & sub attorney touching [?] the premises shall be valid. In testimony whereof I have herewith ___ hand & seal the 2nd December 1825.
