BELLOWS, John, Jr. of Southboro', (s. of John [sic, see following comments]) m. Susannah, D. of Samuel Whitney, Oct. 4, 1768; and lived in Southboro' until about the year 1784, when he settled here on the place that was her father's. She d. there Feb. 1, 1805, aged 57; and he, March 6, 1826, aged 81.
[Note: Besides calling him s. of John, Ward has a footnote where he speculates John was "probably" the son of John Bellows who m. Elizabeth Allen of Hopkinton, the son then settling in Southborough so that his marriage record could describe him as John of Southborough. However, Ward ignores the John Bellows who was actually born in Southborough. Note that the children of John and Susannah include sons named Moses and Lyscom, both shown in Southborough VRs, and also in Ward's list of children of John and Susannah, practically yelling out that he was the son of Moses Bellows and his wife Abigail Lyscom.]
