    Biography

According to the Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, John Bean was born in 1763, in Virginia and died on Christmas Day, 1849, in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky. Their records indicate that he was a Private in the company of Captain Benjamin Biggs, under the command of Colonel Gibson, of the 7th Regiment, in the state of Virginia. (Note: he would have been a teenager at the start of the War, but may have joined later, or even have been a drummer, as many a musician was a teenager during this period of history.) The DAR names his wife as "Eva Senseney." Application for membership in the Society has been by a descendant of his son Eli Lackey Bean, who married Sarah Ann Hall. [1]
