"Bartram, John. He petitioned the New Haven General Court, Oct. 1658, for divorce from a wife in Barbadoes, but the Court lacked knowledge of the circumstances and declined to act. Inv. 8 Nov. 1675; 'this is all that John Hurd Junr and his wife gave in'; John Hurd, Jr. made oath, 2 May 1676. His widow Sarah doubtless m. Jacob Gray, for on 25 Feb. 1695 Ens. John Osborn recorded in Fairfield Deeds that he had purchased from John Bartram part of the long lot granted to Bartram's father-in-law Jacob Gray."
