- inherited 60 acres at Barnegat, East Jersey and his least gold ring from his father
- studied law, but didn't like it, so he became a merchant with his brother
- 1776 - bought a mill and 60 acres at Eastchester from Adolph Waldron
- 1794 - sold the mill to John Reid and Thomas Bartow
- lived with brother Anthony until he died
- then lived with his niece, Mrs. Clarina Bartow, who he called "Cousin"
