DEATH CERTIFICATE SIGNED BY CLARENCE M. KURTZ RECORD #685 FOR 1890 CAUSE OF DEATH DYSENTERY Undfertaker was E. S. MILLER of 422 Washington St. Burial Permit #707 forCharles Evans Cemetery.At the time of his death, he was living at 424Canal St. John Lewis Bard served in the Civil War first with Captain WashingtonRichard's Co(F) of the 32 Regiment(3RD Penn's Reserves). Being ill atHarrison's Landing he was discharged Sep 1. 1862 on a surgeonscertificate. He re-enlisted later inCo B of the 195th Regiment until theend of the war. He was mustered in July 16 1864 and when the regimentmustered out on Nov 4, 1864 he transferred to Co A, of the one hundredthand ninety fifth (one year) Pennsylvania volunteers. This unit musteredout in June of 1865. Apparently John did not move to Reading until after1844 if the census information is correct. References
