In the name of God Amen, I John Ashton of Ffinant in the parish of Trefeglwys County of Montgomery and Diocese of Bangor being sick & weak of Body but of Sound & perfect memory praise to Almighty God for the same Do make & ordain this my Last Will & Testament in Manner & form ffollowing
First I bequeath my Soul to the hands of Almighty God [...] hoping threw the meritts of my blessed Saviour [...][...] of my sinn's, & my body to be buried in Xtian burial according to the Discretion of my Son Jarman Executor herein named
As to the rest of the personal estate & goods it has pleased God to bless me with, I give & dispose as followeth -
Imp. I give & bequeath unto my daughter Mary the summ of one shill.
Item I give & bequeath unto my son Edward the sum of one shill. Item I give to my son John the sum of one shilling
Item I give & bequeath unto my son Charles the summ of one shill.
Item I give & bequeath unto my son Roger the summ of five pounds
Item I give & bequeath unto my daughter Dorothy the wife of Thomas Lewis the summ of one shilling
Item I give & bequeath the sum of one hundred pounds principal & five pounds of Interest now due in the hands of Richard Jones unto my Loving wife together with the goods that she brought with her & to her appertaining at her marr. or elsewhere
Item I give to my Loving wife the sum of five pounds mon to be pd by my Executors
As to all the rest of my goods chattels & cattles I give & dispose to my son Jarman whom I constitute & appoint my sole Executor for this my last will & Testament revoking all others heretofore by me made
