Family Record of Dr. Samuel Adams, United Empire Loyalist of Vermont and Upper Canada, p. 22, shows this John dying young, and another born about 1742, about whom no further details are given. All this is presented with no apparent evidence to support it since no dates are given. In the will, John is named first of the three older sons which appears to be in birth order. So the speculation about the second son John appears not only unfounded, but contradicts circumstatial evidence.
