BISTERSCHIED is another of those tiny villages, from where many of the early pioneers of the townships of Jefferson, Bucks, and Auburn, in Tuscarwaras County, Ohio, had migrated. Bisterschied is located about a mile south of the village of Ransweiler, which is in turn located about a mile east of the tiny village of WALDGREHWEILER.

In his Family Tree, the surnames of Britzius, Maurer, Sundheimer, and Wasem, also appear. Most of the names that "White Creek" has are of the Britzius surname, many of which migrated on to Minnesota.

In the Urbana, Indiana area, the surname of Schwarz appears. Was there a connection?

There is also another Palatine family by the name of SCHWARTZ, which also had links to the Palatine Families, which migrated to Wabash County. In John Schwartz Family Tree, are the surnames of Mattern, Lanzer, Wenzel, Fleck, Yentes, and Karns. John Schwartz was a Palatine, but we don't know what village he was from. However, his son-in-law, Valentine M. Mattern migrated from Schmidtweiler, which is located only about two miles northwest of the Waldgrehweiler village, mentioned above. This SCHWARTZ Family also has WeRelate.org pages.
