Facts and Events
Name[2][3][4] Johann Gerd Kreyenhagen
Gender Male
Birth[1] Est 1770
Marriage to Grete Gertruth Zuickan Findabrats
Death[4] 1836 Kalkriese, Kingdom of Hannover

The family's history extends back to the 1200s in the Kalkriese area. They were the owners of the Half-Heir Estate, and sold it to the Baron von Bar, in 1847, and migrated to America.

JOHANN probably had a title of "Colon", and passed it along to his daughter, who became the estate owner, by some unknown process. According to local law, one of her brothers should have inherited it. In 1847 the current Baron von Barr initiated a lawsuit against the current Colon, Gerhard (Meier) Kreyenhagen, which caused him to sell the estate to the Baron, and migrate. The Baron then tore down the original house, and built a new castle on the premises.

The only child left in the country, by the departed family, was AMC Tobrocke, in Hannover at this time, and was living on the Baron's original castle grounds, and may have seen her father's home destroyed, and the new castle being built. She and her family migrated to the USA later, in 1854.
