He is believed to have been a native of the Osnabrueck area. He was one of the founders of the St. John's Lutheran Church at White Creek, a mile or so east of the Methodist Church. He left St. John's, and became a leader at the WCMC. He has a very unusual style of tombstone. His tombstone is the next one east of Charlotte Kreinhagen (the wife of William). Johann Kerkhof's tombstone is the next one to the south of Henry Tobrocke.
